About The Role
Join CoinDesk's award-winning editorial team covering the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3 sectors. You will break news, write features, and deliver insightful analysis to help readers navigate the fast-evolving digital asset space.
Key Responsibilities
* Pitch and generate original stories covering crypto economy topics (DeFi, regulation, NFTs, venture capital, etc.).
* Monitor markets, on-chain data, social media, and other sources for breaking news.
* Interview founders, investors, developers, regulators to build trusted source networks.
* Write clean, compelling, well-researched news articles, features, and analysis under CoinDesk's editorial standards.
* Collaborate with editors and reporters on coverage.
* Stay informed on macroeconomic trends affecting crypto markets.
* Support multimedia content like podcasts, videos, and live events.
Qualifications
* Proven reporting/journalism experience, ideally in finance, tech, or related fields.
* Deep understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital assets.
* Excellent writing and storytelling skills; able to simplify complex topics for a wide audience.
* Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
* Research and analytical expertise.
* Track record of breaking news and cultivating sources.
* Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with content management systems and social media.
* Experience with AI tools for research, data analysis, and transcription, plus ethical knowledge of AI use in journalism.
* Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Economics, or related field is a plus.

* Position based in UK/EU with onsite presence 2-3 days per week.
