Senior Data Engineer

WHAT YOU WILL DO
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and implementation of our data strategy. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with data-driven problem-solving skills.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and platforms, while mentoring junior engineers.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions.
2. Managing data pipeline projects from inception to deployment, including scope, timelines, and risks.
3. Mentoring junior team members to meet business needs.
4. Ensuring data quality and integrity through testing and monitoring.
5. Leveraging cloud platforms (preferably AWS) to build scalable data solutions.
6. Collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
7. Resolving complex data challenges.
8. Following data engineering best practices and standards.
9. Staying updated with the latest data technologies and trends.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
Our ideal candidate:
* Has hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and can architect cost-effective, scalable data solutions.
* Proficient in Python, PySpark, SQL, with experience in performance tuning for big data ETL processes.
* Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Communicates effectively and collaborates well in English.
* Has experience with data modeling and performance tuning for OLAP and OLTP databases.
* Has worked with Apache Spark, Apache Airflow.
* Familiar with software engineering best practices.
* Holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
* Possesses AWS Certified Data Engineer and Databricks certificates (preferred).
