About the Role
We are seeking a Senior R&D Scientist to lead the development and optimization of bio-based, biocompatible adhesive materials for medical applications. This role will focus on advancing the Bio2Skin platform and translating scientific insights into scalable, high-performance formulations.
What You'll Do
Design, synthesize, and characterize bio-based polymeric adhesives for skin-contact medical devices
Develop and optimize polyester-based formulations, ensuring controlled adhesion and biocompatibility
Perform chemical, physical and mechanical testing to evaluate performance under various conditions
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (chemists, biomedical engineers, clinicians) to bridge lab-scale innovation with product development
Contribute to scientific publications, patents, and regulatory documentation supporting product validation and certification.
What We're Looking For
PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
3+ years of industrial R&D experience, preferably in adhesive systems or polymeric materials
Proven experience with adhesive formulation, polymer synthesis, and characterization techniques (FTIR, DSC, TGA, rheometry, SEM, adhesion, etc.)
Strong understanding of bio-based polymers, skin-bonding systems, and structure–property relationships in polymer networks
Knowledge of medical device standards and biocompatibility requirements (ISO *****, MDR) is an asset
Creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a startup environment.
