The role:
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead, inspire, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of up to 6 developers and 1 QA, fostering a high-quality, outcome-oriented culture. You will be responsible not only for the successful delivery of your team’s projects but also for creating an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. By actively coaching your team members, you will help develop their skills and careers, ensuring they have clear goals and the support they need to succeed. Additionally, you will work closely with product owners and stakeholders to align technical delivery with business objectives, proactively managing risks and dependencies to keep projects on track.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage your team’s delivery, ensuring quality and timely execution of projects.
* Support team members’ career growth through performance appraisals and coaching.
* Act as liaison between your team and key internal/external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with peer Engineering Managers to align on priorities, identify risks, and remove blockers.
* Support product owners and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
* Drive continuous improvement using Scrum methodology and data-driven insights.
* Manage incident response and use defect tracking systems to maintain software quality.
Your Qualifications:
* Proven track record leading and managing multidisciplinary teams delivering complex software projects.
* Strong technical background with knowledge of distributed, redundant, and transactional systems.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (English and Portuguese).
* Experience in career development, coaching, and fostering collaborative team culture.
* Strong analytical skills to identify technical risks and resolve issues.
* Demonstrated professional attitude, work ethic, and leadership by example.
* Experience with incident management and defect tracking systems.
