Senior Adhesive Scientist

The role of Senior Adhesive Scientist will involve leading the development and optimization of bio-based, biocompatible adhesive materials for medical applications. This position will focus on advancing the Bio2Skin platform and translating scientific insights into scalable, high-performance formulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, synthesize, and characterize bio-based polymeric adhesives for skin-contact medical devices
* Develop and optimize polyester-based formulations, ensuring controlled adhesion and biocompatibility
* Perform chemical, physical, and mechanical testing to evaluate performance under various conditions
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (chemists, biomedical engineers, clinicians) to bridge lab-scale innovation with product development
* Contribute to scientific publications, patents, and regulatory documentation supporting product validation and certification
Requirements:
* PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
* 3+ years of industrial R&D experience, preferably in adhesive systems or polymeric materials
* Proven experience with adhesive formulation, polymer synthesis, and characterization techniques (FTIR, DSC, TGA, rheometry, SEM, adhesion, etc.)
* Strong understanding of bio-based polymers, skin-bonding systems, and structure-property relationships in polymer networks
* Knowledge of medical device standards and biocompatibility requirements is an asset
* Creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a startup environment
