The Constellation Technology Team provides a group-wide set of Technology Products and Services across the Constellation Automotive Group.
What does a Data Engineer do?
We apply software engineering principles to the management of data, we create tooling that enables the business to handle data at scale, and we automate away manual tasks.
Problems we solve
* Creating robust data pipelines that can ingest large volumes of semi-structured data and provide it to consumers in a format they can use
* Ensure strictly controlled and governed access to - sometimes personally and commercially sensitive - data for internal and external stakeholders
* Build custom system integrations to enhance manual process driven workflows with automation
Day to day
Build and maintain…
* integratins with the prduct engineering data feeds t extract raw, semi-structured applicatin data prcesses t structure and persist raw data int easier to consume models
* data imprt prcesses t enrich and expand ur data capabilities
* data exprt prcesses t ensure ur clleagues and external partners have reliable access t structured data
* Manage role based access controls in line with business requirements
* Identify areas where repetition occurs across both internal and external processes and proactively implement solutions
* Monitor areas where we fall short of data compliance best practices and remediate
* Working in an agile methodology - we aim to move all work through an iterative process of:
* Swiftly releasing a tactical slution t address an emergent business need
* Enhance slution with strategic aims in mind wrking t best practices
* Further extend slutions t be 'self-healing' and extensible

Data Engineering & Machine Learning Operations (DE & MLOps) is one of the squads in the cinch Tech function, which operates in an agile "tribes and squads" structure. We act as a platform squad for product engineering and for the wider business, so we often collaborate with other engineers, product owners, BI developers, marketing executives, Finance and Income (F&I) analysts, and business analysts across cinch as well as the wider Constellation Retail Group (CRG).
We're responsible for ingesting, automating, and enabling reporting across all facets of data at cinch, and as a result we get to work on a wide range of interesting and varied business challenges
