Our ideal candidate for this Operations role is a seasoned professional with a strong background in ensuring the smooth operation of complex systems.
We are looking for someone who can effectively prevent and resolve incidents, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical information to various stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of DevOps principles, experience with automation tools like Jenkins and scripting languages such as Python, and a strong grasp of monitoring and observability tools like Datadog.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of our Java banking applications developed by an agile team working under the SAFe framework. You will work closely with Java developers, DevOps engineers, business analysts, Product Owners, Scrum Master, Project Manager, and testers, adapting your communication style to meet the needs of different audiences.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure continuous monitoring and operational availability of applications and Kubernetes environments.
* Prevent incidents and actively participate in their resolution in coordination with DevOps engineers and the Java Tech Lead.
* Contribute to the automation of daily team tasks using Python/Shell scripts, Jenkins pipelines, Jira/Xray integration.
* Interact with internal APIs to improve and strengthen processes.
* Manage and evolve a processing chain under Control-M (creation, modification, and deletion of jobs across different environments).
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives through GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Required Technical Skills:
* Monitoring & Observability: Datadog.
* Automation & CI/CD: Jenkins, Git, scripting (Python, Shell).
* Orchestration & Scheduling: Kubernetes and Control-M (mandatory expertise).
* Security & Secrets Management: Vault.
* Quality, Testing & Artifact Management: Artifactory, SonarQube, and Jira Xray.
* Agile Project Management: Jira.
* Strong understanding of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Profile Sought:
* Proven experience in a banking environment or a large enterprise with complex systems.
* Strong Ops background, focused on incident prevention and resolution.
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and simplify technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
* Autonomy, rigor, and a mindset of continuous improvement.
* Proficiency in French (spoken and written) is highly valued.
Requirements:
* Degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
