About The Job
The EQFI trade support team is the first level of trading control, highly driven to mitigate operational risk. Working within Global Market Operations and collaborating with desks across the world—New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris, and Lisbon—EQFI supports the London and Paris trading desks concerning equity financing.
Our mission is to maintain operational risk at the lowest possible level, with a focus on client satisfaction both externally and internally. The main goal is to ensure the accuracy of trading positions, transactions, and events related to the products held in their books and by the bank.
Responsibilities of Controls
* Assist in resolving PNL / PCA / BO issues. All requests must be critically assessed as they impact the current position. Any modifications or cancellations beyond T+2 initiated by traders or other teams must be documented and communicated to management. Exercise critical judgment in explanations provided.
* Implement controls to minimize operational and fraud risks, escalate issues to management or relevant teams, and contribute to BNP Paribas's operational control framework.
Main Activities
* Manage trade processing for Forward Trading activities.
* Ensure trading positions are correct by comparing primary transaction bookings with external sources.
* Detect and resolve discrepancies between front office bookings and source documents.
* Enter and monitor secondary transactions initiated by Sales and Trading teams.
* Follow up on events affecting trades (e.g., corporate actions, expiry).
* Perform reconciliations to ensure data consistency across systems.
* Check OTC derivatives for 871M eligibility.
* Facilitate communication between Front Office and Back Office to resolve breaks.
* Ensure correct booking and settlement of trades, working closely with P&L and PCA teams.
* Respond to internal and external queries and improve processes for Forward Trading.
Profile and Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Management.
* Up to 2 years of relevant experience in Banking and Financial Operations.
* Fluent in English (C1-C2 level).
* Critical thinking and results-driven mindset.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Knowledge of Middle Office Operations and transaction processing data capture.
