SEO Strategist Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and data-driven SEO professional to join our marketing team in Portugal. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing our website and content for search engines to increase organic visibility, traffic, and conversions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop comprehensive SEO strategies that align with business goals and drive results.
2. Conduct competitive analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in search and stay up-to-date with the latest algorithms and ranking factors.
3. Plan and execute keyword research and mapping to targeted landing pages, ensuring optimal user experience and conversion rates.
On-Page Optimization Tasks
1. Optimize website content, meta tags, headers, internal linking, and images while ensuring best practices for accessibility and crawlability.
2. Collaborate with content teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented in new and existing content, driving engagement and conversions.
3. Monitor site architecture and ensure indexability, fixing technical issues and improving page speed.
Off-Page SEO Objectives
1. Develop link-building campaigns, outreach, and partnerships focusing on high-quality backlinks and brand mentions.
2. Monitor backlink profile and identify disavow opportunities, maintaining a clean and authoritative online presence.
Technical SEO Focus
1. Regularly conduct technical audits and troubleshoot crawl errors, page speed issues, and mobile usability problems ensuring a seamless user experience.
2. Work with developers to implement technical fixes, including structured data, redirects, XML sitemaps, and other optimization techniques.
Analytics & Reporting Tasks
1. Use tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs/SEMrush, and Screaming Frog to monitor performance and track key metrics such as keyword rankings, CTR, bounce rates, and conversion from organic traffic.
2. Provide monthly SEO reports with actionable insights and recommendations driving continuous improvement and growth.
Requirements & Qualifications
* 2–5 years of experience in SEO (agency or in-house) with a proven track record of success.
* A strong understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors staying up-to-date with industry developments.
* Proficiency with SEO tools including Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and GA4.
* Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, or others ensuring optimal website performance.
* Knowledge of HTML/CSS and technical SEO principles with a focus on best practices and optimization techniques.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and project management skills.
