At Bureau Veritas we are recruiting a Construction Safety Coordinator for a photovoltaic project in the Ourique, Beja area.
Responsabilities:
* Coordinate the business activities of all involved entities as required by Article 19 of Law no. 102/2009.
* Ensure the effective application of safety procedures and preventive measures on site.
* Perform at least one on-site inspection per week, with additional visits to be conducted depending on the progress of work and the associated risk level.
* Organize and lead weekly Health and Safety coordination meetings with the EPC Contractor and relevant stakeholders, including preparation and distribution of formal meeting minutes.
Requirements:
* Official degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, with a minimum of 120 hours of training in the construction sector (as required by Portuguese law).
* Recognized as Health and Safety Coordinator (Execution Phase) under Portuguese Decree-Law no. 273/2003, with active registration at ACT (Autoridade para as Condições do Trabalho).
* Minimum 5 years of experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects, preferably in EPC environments.
* Solid knowledge of applicable Portuguese HSE legislation, and technical guidance for high-risk activities.
* Proven ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and lead site-wide HSE initiatives.
* Strong communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
* Fluency in Portuguese (mandatory); good command of English is highly valued.
* Valid professional liability insurance covering the Coordinator's scope of responsibilities.
