.About The JobThe Legal Counsel main task is to provide legal advice to the CIB (Corporate & Institutional Banking) business ensuring the strictest compliance with legal laws at all times.
The Legal Counsel could be asked to react to legal queries from outside Portugal.Your Main ActivitiesProvide legal support to CIB business in particular with regards to bilateral and syndicated loan documentation, security and ad-hoc documentation.Review, negotiate and draft banking law related documents, loan contracts and security documentation, templates, cash management documents and other legal documents as required by the commercial or operational departments.Elaborate banking contracts and related collaterals.Drafting and revising of documents concerning Corporate Governance and delegations.Rendering effective legal assistance in the preparation of legal opinions, studies and reports as required from time to time.
Guidance and advice on daily business requests/queries.Representing the Bank towards the Courts, if necessary.Revision of provisions and general terms and conditions applicable to accounts, transactions and payment instruments.Management of contractual documentation to set up arrangements with suppliers and providers, including intra-group SLA's.Supporting Legal Head on specific projects.Follow up the litigation files.Advice on proposed and applicable banking laws and regulations in a perspective of Regulatory Watch.Profile and Skills to SuccessBachelor's Degree in Law.Advanced level of English fluency, both oral and written.At least 5 years of law/labor law experience.Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, particularly PowerPoint.Legal Knowledge about Law and Regulation.Active listening, great communication and synthesizing skills.Why joining BNP Paribas?Leading banking institution.
