About the Role
We are seeking an HR Director to lead our team at Dreams Madeira Resort & Spa Marina, a 5-star hotel in Madeira.
Your main mission will be to report to the General Manager and oversee all HR activities, including:
* Developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the resort's business objectives.
* Collaborating with senior management to ensure a high-performing and engaged workforce.
* Driving HR initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and service excellence.
* Monitoring industry trends and implementing best HR practices in luxury hospitality.
* Overseeing recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent in hospitality and luxury service.
* Managing workforce planning, ensuring optimal staffing levels for peak and off-peak seasons.
* Partnering with department heads to define hiring needs and succession planning strategies.
* Fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.
* Addressing employee concerns and mediating disputes to maintain a healthy work environment.
* Implementing employee recognition programs to enhance motivation and loyalty.
* Conducting regular staff engagement surveys and implementing feedback-driven improvements.
* Developing and overseeing training programs to enhance service excellence and career growth.
* Ensuring leadership development programs for department heads and supervisors.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in HR functions, 3 years in Senior position, preferably in the luxury hotel sector.
* In-depth knowledge of HR, human capital & development, extensive experience in personnel planning and recruiting, payroll accounting, HR software.
* Analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
* Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
* Experience in high-volume recruitment and talent management.
* Fluent English and Portuguese (required). Other languages a plus.
* Proactivity, ability to work in a team and strategic vision.
* Assertiveness and negotiating skills.
* Personal responsibility and proactivity.
* Strong communication skills.
* Requires flexibility, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel for recruitment or corporate meetings.
