NoOffer Description BI 18.CSI.2026.IDMECThe Institute of Mechanical Engineering – IDMEC is opening a call forone Research Studentships for Master studentsApplications are open for one (1) Research Studentships for Master students, within the framework of project/R&D institution Laboratório Associado de Energia, Transportes e Aeronáutica, reference UIDB/50022/2020, financed by national funds through (OE) FCT.IP, under the following conditions:Admission Requirements:Research Studentships for Master students:To be enrolled at the master in Mechanical Engineering, Systems branch, or declaration of honor in which undertakes to be enrolled until the grant's contract is done.b) not to exceed with this contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries shall be registered by a Portuguese institution, according to the Decree‐Law nr. 66/2018, of August 16th, and the Ordinance nr. 33/2019, of January 25th. The objectives to achieve within this project are:Automate data collection and post-processing of maritime‐sensor live feed.Create surrogate models of numerical models.Help design and develop the Digital Twin end‐user interface.Workplace and scientific supervision:The work will be developed at IDMEC - Instituto de Engenharia Mecânica, being both the Host and Contracting Entity, under the scientific supervision of Professor João Miguel da Costa Sousa.Duration:The research fellowship will have the duration of 3 months. It's expected to begin in April 2026, and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum stated by the law.Selection methods : The selection methods will be the following: a) curriculum evaluation (70%), b) individual interview (specifying its conditions) (30%) with the total weight of 100%.
