It's a starter mission for someone who wants to learn how a tech company grows by helping it grow.
Welcome to Nimber (Lisbon, boutique software house + tech-driven consulting, 3 years young, moving fast, building custom digital products with people who actually care).
We're looking for a Business Manager Junior.
But if you're expecting "Responsibilities / Requirements / Benefits" in a boring list
you're in the wrong internet.
THE NIMBER TEST (read carefully)
You're in our Lisbon office. Great coffee. Good vibes. No red tape.
A client just messaged:
"We need a team for a new digital product. Tight timeline. Clear budget. We want people who communicate well and don't vanish."
At the same time:
* Delivery is asking: "What exactly are we selling here?"
* Recruitment is asking: "What profile are we hiring?"
* Marketing is asking: "What's the story we tell publicly?"
And then someone turns to you and says:
"Ok. You're up. What do we do next?"
If that sentence gives you energy (not panic), keep reading.
YOUR ROLE (in one line)
You're the person who turns chaos into movement - connecting market client team delivery growth.
Not with "busy work".
With ownership.
YOUR 3 MODES (aka: what you'll actually do)
1) HUNTER MODE (market prospecting)
You'll help us find opportunities before they become obvious:
* Identify target companies + decision makers (smartly, not spammy)
* Open doors (cold outreach, warm intros, events, LinkedIn, creative angles)
* Track leads like a pro (pipeline, follow-ups, "next step" discipline)
* Learn how consulting deals actually happen in real life
Translation: you'll become dangerous in the best way.
2) ORCHESTRATOR MODE (client & project management)
You'll help keep client projects healthy:
* Coordinate with delivery teams so promises match reality
* Follow up with clients (timelines, expectations, "what's next?")
* Spot risks early (and act before they become dramas)
* Keep things moving without needing constant instruction
Translation: you'll learn how to run the business, not just observe it.
3) CONNECTOR MODE (bridge between delivery / marketing / recruitment)
You'll be the glue:
* Align what we sell with what we can deliver
* Translate "tech talk" into "client talk" (and vice-versa)
* Support recruitment: what profiles we need, why, and how to attract them
* Help with pitch decks, proposals, positioning, messaging
Translation: you'll sit at the intersection where companies either scale or stall.
WHO THIS IS FOR (radical honesty)
This is for you if:
* Recent grad, and your brain hates "just doing tasks"
* You have an entrepreneurial mindset (even if you've never had a business)
* You're comfortable with ambiguity and can create structure
* You're tech-curious (you don't need to code, but you don't fear tech people)
* You communicate clearly, confidently, and respectfully
* You speak Portuguese + English fluently (you'll use both)
* You like people and problem-solving (rare combo, super valuable)
No experience required.
But ownership is required.
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
This is not for you if:
* You want a job where someone tells you exactly what to do every day
* You hate follow-ups, outreach, or "putting yourself out there"
* You want remote-first (this is 100% on-site in Lisbon)
* You need a slow environment to feel safe
(We're warm and supportive - but we move.)
WHAT YOU GET (the non-fluffy version)
* A real startup environment: fast, direct, no bureaucracy
* A close-knit team: young, ambitious, and allergic to BS
* Exposure to clients, deals, recruitment, delivery, marketing - early
* A chance to shape how Nimber grows (not "watch from the sidelines")
* A beautiful Lisbon office, great coffee, and yes good vibes (for real)
THE APPLICATION (also not normal)
Send us one message (email or LinkedIn DM). No formal cover letter.
Subject line:
"I want the mission."
In the message, include:
1. A 30-second intro (who you are + what you're hunting in your career)
2. A tiny proof of hustle (anything: project, side thing, event you organized, weird initiative, sports captain show momentum)
3. Choose ONE of these mini-challenges:
Challenge A - Prospecting instinct:
Pick one type of company in Portugal you think Nimber should target (industry + why). Write 5 lines.
Challenge B - Client reality check:
A client wants "a new app in 6 weeks". What are the first 5 questions you ask to avoid disaster?
Challenge C - Bridge builder:
Explain what a "boutique software house" is in a way your non-tech friend would understand (max 6 lines).
That's it.
DETAILS (so nobody gets surprises)
