Engine AI is the Intelligence Engine for Capital Markets. We turn fragmented data into accurate, explainable intelligence that helps Capital Markets teams make faster, better-informed decisions. Our solutions combine a domain-trained data graph, precision analytics, and persona-specific AI workflows, trusted by leading Capital Markets firms including S&P Global, KX, RavenPack, National Bank of Canada, PwC, FXCM, JP Morgan, and Interactive Investors. The RoleWe are hiring an AI Product Designer to own the experience layer of that intelligence: the dashboards, copilots, and agent interfaces that Capital Markets professionals actually use every day. This role is for designers who translate user needs and business goals into intuitive, impactful AI-driven products. You'll own the craft end-to-end: research, interaction design, visual systems, and prototypes that brings it to life. You'll work on things like:- Design Systems + Data Visualisation - AI agents that answer complex data questions - Chat + Dashboard hybrid interfaces - Systems that generate dashboards, queries, and insightsWhat You'll DoDesign AI-Native Experiences- Own features end-to-end from ambiguous problem to shipped product. - Design for non-determinism: ambiguity, partial answers, and failure states. - Turn complex data + AI capabilities into clear, usable workflows. - Work directly with engineers to shape system behaviour, not just UI.Conversational & Agent Interfaces- Design multi-turn interactions across chat and agent workflows. - Define states, transitions, recovery paths, and escalation points. - Decide when AI should act, ask, or step back. - Translate UX intent into interaction patterns, system behaviour, and prompt strategies.Generative + Data UX- Design around generated outputs: queries, dashboards, insights. - Build human-in-the-loop flows: edit, refine, compare, approve. - Prototype concepts quickly to validate ideas early.Design Systems & Collaboration- Contribute to and evolve our design system to support AI-native patterns. - Create reusable components that are actually used in production. - Work directly with engineers to keep design and code aligned. What You Bring- Strong product and visual design judgment is non-negotiable. You have the portfolio to prove it: real products, shipped end-to-end. - You think in systems and flows, not isolated screens. - You design with accessibility as a first principle. - You've designed AI-powered features and understand their real-world behaviour (inconsistency, edge cases, failure modes) and you've solved for them in the UI. - You've contributed to a design system used in production.Strong Signal- Experience designing conversational or agent-based systems. - Understanding of LLMs and AI capabilities (prompting, iteration, tradeoffs). - Experience defining AI behaviour and interaction patterns, not just interfaces. - Familiarity with design system tooling (Storybook, tokens, etc.). - Familiarity with prototyping AI-driven experiences. - Ability to collaborate deeply with engineering and product teams.Nice to Have- You've designed and implemented experiences yourself (React + TypeScript) - You've designed and built reusable systems used by others (component libraries, internal platforms, or open source). - You have experience with Claude Code and other AI coding tools. - You've built products or tooling for capital markets or financial services. How We Work- Small teams, high ownership — outcomes over artefacts. - From ambiguity to product — shaping the problem is part of the job. - Strong collaboration between design, engineering, and product. - Fast iteration — we optimise for shipped product and real usage. - Systems over demos — what we build has to hold in reality. - Continuous shipping, learning, and improvement.Final NoteWe will only accept applications that include portfolio. We're not adding AI features to an existing product. We're building an AI-native interface for data.Agents, chat, and generated dashboards need to work as one coherent system, not separate tools.A lot of this is still undefined. The expectation is that you turn that into something real.Apply directly or email .We encourage a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all communities.
