Cloud & IT Manager Job Description
As a Cloud & IT Manager, you will provide leadership and hands-on management of Cloud & IT functions within the organization. This role ensures that IT aligns with business goals, supports compliance requirements, optimizes cloud resources with a strong level of automation, and maintains a secure and efficient technology environment.
Main Responsibilities
* Infrastructure and Cloud Management:
o Manage and optimize the company's Azure Cloud infrastructure.
o Support the full development team with DevOps knowledge (e.g. automation of deployments, setup of infrastructure for new components, etc.).
o Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of IT systems to agreed SLAs.
o Monitor and manage cloud resources, focusing on cost efficiency and performance.
o Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
o Ensure systems and data are backed up and can be restored promptly.
o Test and update recovery procedures regularly.
o Continuous improvement of our infrastructure.
* Information Security:
o Maintain comprehensive information security policies and procedures.
o Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and ensure incident response readiness.
o Protect the organization against cyber threats and data breaches.
o Support SOC2 and PCI compliance efforts, especially on the technology aspects.
* IT Management:
o Develop and implement the company's IT strategy, aligning it with business objectives.
o Provide a voice to leadership for IT investments and infrastructure.
o Lead approved internal IT projects, from planning to execution, ensuring they meet business needs and timelines.
o Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
o Monitor IT expenditures and seek cost saving opportunities.
o Forecast future IT costs and investments.
o Evaluate, select and manage vendors, contracts, and service agreements.
* IT Operations and Support:
o Oversee day-to-day IT operations to ensure reliable and efficient IT service delivery.
o Manage IT support, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
o Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and provide support to staff.
o Maintain an inventory of all IT assets, including laptops, servers, and other equipment.
o Ensure regular maintenance, updates, upgrades and security measures for laptops and other devices.
Requirements
* Autonomy: Highly motivated, self-starter, well organized and comfortable interacting with a diverse range of colleagues, all of whom will be working remotely and across multiple time zones.
* Team Player: Works well with others and helps the entire team be successful on common goals.
* Technical Proficiency: Solid engineering background, preferably in Microsoft technology stacks and a deep hands-on knowledge of Cloud technologies and especially Azure.
* Database Knowledge: Solid experience with SQL for either SQL Server or Azure SQL.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical details and work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.
* Hands-on attitude: Comfortable with implementing all kinds of changes directly.
* Process Improvement mindset: Always looking for how to improve our infrastructure and IT management, including automation wherever possible.
Preferred Skills
* Prior experience in similar roles with both Cloud and IT management.
* Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub and Teams.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
