We are looking for a motivated and experienced ServiceNow Developer / Product Owner to join our IT team in Portugal. This hybrid role blends hands-on development with strategic product ownership, offering the opportunity to lead a small team and shape the evolution of our mature ServiceNow platform.
You'll work in a collaborative, Agile environment, contributing to both technical implementation and cross-functional alignment. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on both technical depth and stakeholder engagement—and who is ready to grow into a broader leadership position.
Primary Functions And Tasks
ServiceNow Development
- Build and customize ServiceNow applications and modules based on business requirements
- Integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise systems (e.g., SAP)
- Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on performance and scalability
- Test, troubleshoot, and deploy new features and updates
- Maintain technical documentation for development and configuration work
Product Ownership
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize the product backlog
- Translate business needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
- Monitor platform performance and user feedback for continuous improvement
Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide a junior developer or administrator
- Coordinate workload and support professional development
- Foster a collaborative and goal-aligned team culture
Broader Systems Involvement
- Contribute to adjacent systems and cross-platform workflows
- Support integrations with onboarding, asset tracking, and approval systems
ITSM Process Ownership
- Enhance ITSM modules (Incident, Request, Change, Problem Management)
- Ensure compliance and security in workflows and data handling
- Create dashboards and reports to support transparency and decision-making
Operations & Maintenance
- Manage day-to-day platform operations including 1st and 2nd line support
- Define and execute upgrade processes aligned with ServiceNow's release cycle
- Implement automated testing for changes and upgrades
We are looking for:
Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow
- Proven experience implementing ITSM solutions
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks
- Knowledge of ITIL and enterprise service management practices
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level)
Certifications
- Mandatory:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Preferred:
- Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM (CIS-ITSM)
Travel
- Primarily remote or Lisbon-based
- Occasional travel for strategic meetings or go-lives (max. 3x/year)
