We are looking for a Lead OutSystems Engineer (m/f/d) to join a global team within a leading insurance company, specialized in the luxury market.
This is a strategic role with high visibility, focused on building and scaling a new OutSystems capability in Lisbon.
Location: Lisbon (Hybrid – 2 days per week on-site) Contract: Permanent contract directly with the client Your new roleAs a Lead OutSystems Engineer, you will take a key position in the development and modernization of internal platforms used across multiple international regions.
You will combine hands-on development, technical leadership, and architectural guidance, helping to define standards, processes, and the technical roadmap for the new team in Portugal.
Your responsibilities will include:Leading the design and development of applications using OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).
Ensuring high-quality engineering standards with focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.Driving integration architectures, particularly REST APIs, event-driven approaches, and cloud-native services.Collaborating closely with Solution and Integration Architects across global teams.Supporting requirement gathering, translating business needs into technical specifications.Mentoring and guiding the new engineering team in Lisbon, fostering best practices and technical excellence.
What you need to be successfulStrong experience in OutSystems (preferably ODC).
Solid background in web technical design, integration patterns, and service-based architectures.Knowledge of Microsoft Azure (Functions, API Management, serverless/PaaS).
Experience with AWS or other clouds is also relevant.Experience working with RESTful APIs, including design, governance, and troubleshooting.Understanding of Agile and DevOps approaches, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices.Ability to interact with business stakeholders and support decision-making.Previous experience mentoring or technically leading other developers.
