Acting as a senior technical authority, you will collaborate closely with architects, engineering managers, and product leaders to design and deliver scalable solutions that support our global iGaming platform. You will lead complex technical initiatives, guide architectural decisions, and help elevate engineering standards across the organisation while remaining close to the code and supporting teams in solving challenging technical problems.The impact you will have:You will write high-quality software that will conform to architectural non-functional requirements. You will lead the implementation of complex software systems, ensuring they meet current industry standards and best practices. Technically mentor and guide engineers, fostering an environment of learning and professional development. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, product managers and designers, to translate requirements into technical solutions. Perform code reviews, providing constructive feedback aimed at improving the overall quality and maintainability of the codebase and guidance to other engineers on how to do code reviews. You shall drive continuous improvement initiatives proactively, identifying and addressing areas in our processes and services that can be optimised. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into our projects where applicable. You will troubleshoot, resolve and showcase complex technical issues, employing your deep understanding of system architecture and algorithms. Contribute to strategic planning sessions, offering insights, recommendations based on your technical expertise, and breaking down big tasks into smaller deliveries. Coordinating with architecture and operations to come up with the most effective (balancing time to market and quality of code) technical solution and influencing the cross functional teams.What we're looking for:10+ years of hands-on industry experience as a software engineer You have successfully built, deployed, and supported an enterprise-scale web application ideally with full-stack experience, with expertise in at least one layer You have hands-on software development experience in Java, and optionally with JavaScript with a modern MVC framework (e.g. Angular, React, etc.) You are a quick learner with the ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems You are a pragmatist at heart, you will balance technical perfection with time to market and will drive technical improvements through an iterative process coordinating with delivery Familiarity with iGaming platforms will be appreciatedSportingtech is an equal opportunity employer.
