About the Role
The Head of Cultivation is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of cultivation operations at Curaleaf. This role ensures optimal plant health, compliance with regulations, and meeting ambitious production goals.
* Oversee cultivation process (propagation, vegetative, flowering), develop strategies to maximize yields and cannabinoid content, and ensure adherence to Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) and local regulations.
* Lead and mentor cultivation, harvest, and post‑harvest teams; provide training; coordinate with other departments to streamline operations.
* Supervise post‑harvest processes such as trimming, drying, curing, and packaging; monitor inventory levels; work closely with the quality team to ensure accurate documentation.
* Maintain accurate records for all activities to ensure traceability; collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams for inspections and audits.
* Lead strategic improvement plans and investments in alignment with the company's strategic direction.
About You

Experience Requirements
* Experience within a highly regulated QA environment (EU GMP, GACP, ISO, etc.).
* Hands‑on experience in large‑scale agricultural operations.
* Leadership of large teams (50+); cannabis industry experience beneficial but not essential.
* Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agronomy, botany, or related field desirable.
Key Skills and Knowledge
* Strong understanding of plant biology, nutrient management, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and advanced cultivation techniques such as hydroponics, aeroponics, or soil‑based growing.
* Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high‑performing teams focusing on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
* Familiarity with cannabis regulations and compliance requirements in the state of operation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate across departments.
* Capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plant health, facility management, and production processes.
Fluency in English is essential; fluency in Portuguese is advantageous.
