We believe in the people we hire; your personal growth is our goal.As a senior business consultant with Finance expertise, you will be leading transformation projects for our global banking clients in Finance (accounting and financial reporting, asset & liability management, financial planning and analysis, tax planning and compliance). You will assist clients in developing strategic plans and providing insights that align with their business goals and objectives. You will participate, manage and lead consulting projects, from execution to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.At a senior level, you will help identify new business opportunities, participate in proposal writing, and contribute to the growth of the consulting practice. You will also be a champion for area of expertise, by staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and presenting them to colleagues and clients.Where you’ll be stationed:TNP Consultants has recently opened offices in Lisbon and Porto and is looking for candidates to fill positions in both locations.TNP is an international consulting firm, you will participate in international assignments, with potential travel and short-term stationing overseas.What you’ll bring:Equipped with the entrepreneurial fibre, you are ready to collaborate with us in a fast-growing international company, that has recently opened offices in Portugal.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, ACCA, CPA) is highly preferred.Experience: 6 to 11 years of experience in consulting or within the Finance function of global banks, with a deep understanding of financial processes, systems, and regulatory frameworks.Finance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of key finance areas, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory compliance, treasury, and asset/liability management (ALM).Capital Markets Product Control:Expertise in controlling and reporting for capital markets products such as derivatives, fixed income, FX, equities, and structured products.Strong understanding of product valuation, P&L attribution, balance sheet substantiation, and daily/monthly reporting processes.Experience with front-to-back workflows and collaboration with front office, risk, and operations teams to resolve breaks and ensure data integrity.Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with global and regional banking regulations (e.g., Basel III, IFRS, GAAP), and experience in ensuring compliance within financial institutions.Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex projects—from initial scoping and analysis to implementation—within the finance departments of large banks or financial institutions.Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities to assess financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations.Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, including CFOs, product controllers, risk managers, and heads of treasury, to understand business needs and deliver tailored solutions.Process Improvement: Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize financial performance, control accuracy, cost management, and regulatory compliance within capital markets finance functions.Technology Savvy:Familiarity with financial systems used in capital markets environments (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Summit, Bloomberg, Reuters, or equivalent) and integration with general ledger platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).Ability to support or lead automation and data quality initiatives.Risk and Control: Strong understanding of financial control frameworks, risk management principles, capital adequacy, liquidity risk, and end-to-end reconciliations across capital markets products.Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, mentoring junior consultants, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global environment.Languages: Bilingual: Portuguese and English.
