Design Engineer Opportunity

Your Mission
* Derive suitable load cases and targets using first principles, prior experiences, and relevant documentation.
* Work within an integrated, multi-disciplinary design and development team to ensure proposed design solutions meet required load cases.
* Support pre-contract and concept generation through feasibility analysis.
* Adhere to analysis procedures and clearly record analysis results.
* Perform wide range of calculations for mechanical components such as sandwich and monolithic panels, inserts, bonded joints. Brackets and assemblies.
* Create and run stress analysis simulations within Altair, MSC Nastran (Abaqus is a plus).
* Analyse simulation results and provide comprehensive post-processing (Altair tools).
* Support correlation activities with physical testing and validation.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
* Extend analysis capability within your specialism.
* Contribute to continual improvement of analysis processes and tools.
* Support business development activities and create customer proposals.
* Monitor analysis plans and progress for assigned projects.
* Manage external CAE resource in coordination with line manager.
Requirements
* University master's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace/aeronautical engineering.
* Experience in an aerospace business in the fields of FE Analysis with MSC (NASTRAN), Altair (Hyperworks/Optistruct) and/or Abaqus & NX Siemens.
* Detailed stress analysis using aerospace and classical methods.
* Experience in analysis of Satellite structures, mechanisms, antennas and other launcher structures.
* Extensive experience in stress simulation, including implicit, fatigue, linear, and non-linear analysis.
* Advanced knowledge in static, dynamic and nonlinear analysis.
* Advanced knowledge in analysis of composites, sandwich structures and lightweight materials.
* Experience in test prediction and correlation of structures and components (static and dynamic).
