We are recruiting for a shared services organization, based in Oeiras, operating within a large international industrial group, supporting multiple operating companies across Europe. The organization runs a secure, scalable, and business-critical IT environment, with a strong focus on cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and resilient infrastructure, enabling both day-to-day operations and long-term digital transformation.
We are looking for an IT Security & Network Architect to support and progressively take ownership of the organizations IT security posture and its close integration with network and cloud operations. This role combines governance, architecture, coordination, and hands-on involvement, ensuring that IT security policies, frameworks, and best practices are consistently implemented, reviewed, and evolved across the organization. Given the security-centric nature of the environment, WAN and LAN networks are considered a core component of the overall security framework and fall within the scope of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and enforcement of IT Security policies across the organization;
Translate security policies and frameworks into practical technical and operational controls;
Work closely with IT teams to ensure compliance with defined security standards and best practices;
Contribute to the implementation of IT Security best practices across systems, platforms, and services;
Support alignment with security frameworks such as Zero-Trust, SASE, and micro-segmentation;
Contribute to the evolution of the security architecture roadmap, ensuring scalability, resilience, and regulatory alignment;
Support cloud security and cloud operations, ensuring consistent security principles across on-premise and cloud environments;
Participate in cloud architecture reviews, security assessments, and operational improvements;
Perform regular reviews and audits of the security posture of systems, networks, and services;
Identify security gaps, risks, and non-compliance situations, and support remediation actions with relevant teams;
Prepare and maintain security status and progress reports for IT Management;
Support the management and effective use of security-related technologies, including network security components, identity and access controls, monitoring and detection tools, and security enforcement platforms;
Support WAN and LAN architecture and operations, ensuring alignment with Zero-Trust, micro-segmentation, and SASE principles;
Assess and validate the security impact of network changes.
Requirements:
Higher education degree in IT, Information Security, Networks, or related fields;
Background in IT security, networking, infrastructure, or cloud environments;
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (WAN, LAN) and security-driven network concepts;
Understanding of core security principles and frameworks such as Zero-Trust, SASE, and micro-segmentation;
Experience or strong interest in securing hybrid and cloud environments;
Ability to translate security policies and frameworks into operational and technical controls;
Comfortable participating in audits, reviews, and risk assessments;
Strong sense of ownership and accountability;
Structured, methodical, and security-driven mindset;
Good communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders;
Motivation to learn, grow, and evolve within a shared-services, multi-customer environment.
