Role Purpose
To lead the Finance Systems & Process Enablement function for a European Shared Service Centre (SSC), supporting operational finance through strategic transformation, systems enablement, and continuous improvement. The role will lead a cross-functional team that delivers process innovation, ERP stewardship, data integration, and project execution across a multi-country finance operation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Transformation
* Define and drive the roadmap for finance systems and process improvement within the SSC and across European business units.
* Lead a Finance Systems Centre of Excellence team comprising system administrators, project managers, and data engineers.
* Shape and prioritise a portfolio of change initiatives to optimise transactional finance performance, resilience, and scalability.
ERP & Technology Enablement
* Provide strategic leadership over the SSC’s ERP and finance technology ecosystem
* Manage and govern the transition of new business and acquisitions on to the Team Blue finance systems template
* Govern systems architecture, integrations, and process alignment across multiple functional areas.
* Oversee system access, configuration standards, and release planning, leveraging expertise within the team.
Process Improvement & Innovation
* Identify, evaluate, and deliver opportunities for automation, simplification, and improved control across Accounts Payable, Receivable, and General Ledger processes.
* Champion a data-driven culture, leveraging data engineering capability to support efficient transaction flow and accurate reporting.
* Collaborate with the Group Financial Controller and SSC leadership to align systems and process development with operational priorities.
Project & Change Management
* Lead or sponsor key transformation projects, including selection and implementation of new enabling technologies.
* Support adoption of standardised, best-practice processes across business units and geographies looking for process improvement, process standardization and resource efficiencies.
* Foster stakeholder engagement through clear communication, structured governance, and outcome-based delivery.
Collaboration & Service Partnership
* Operate a structured service relationship with the SSC operations team, acting as an enabler and strategic partner.
* Engage with Group Finance, local business units, and IT stakeholders to ensure systems and processes evolve in line with business needs.
Profile Requirements
* Proven track record in leading finance systems or process improvement functions within a Shared Service, Finance Operations, or Transformation environment.
* Strong understanding of ERP systems and finance processes (e.g., Purchase-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report).
* Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams, ideally including systems, data, and project capabilities.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and change leadership skills.
* Fluent Portuguese and strong business English (verbal and written).
* Lisbon-based or able to commute periodically to Lisbon.
Desirable
* Experience in finance transformation consulting or leading finance improvement programmes across multiple geographies.
* Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics).
* Experience with ERP/Systems implementation lifecycles including data migration and localisations
* Experience with workflow automation, document management, or data integration tools.
* Understanding of European finance regulatory environments.
