Syone is currently looking for a Data Architect to join our team in Lisbon for an exciting project in the banking sector.
What you would do:
Define and design cloud architecture solutions aligned with business objectives, security, and regulatory requirements.
Support cloud initiatives by monitoring SaaS solutions, assessing risks, and contributing to migration roadmaps.
Develop architectural blueprints, design patterns, and reference frameworks (e.g., CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code) for development teams.
Advise technical teams on cloud-native architecture, API strategy, DevOps practices, data analytics, and AI/ML integration, using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
Define and enforce cloud governance practices, including security standards, compliance, and cost management.
Stay up to date with cloud technologies, industry trends, and fintech innovations.
Evaluate new technologies and proofs of concept with internal teams and external partners.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support cloud migration initiatives.
Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to IT and business stakeholders.
Contribute to the organization's cloud strategy and support mentoring, knowledge sharing, and team development.
What you need to bring:
Development and Solution Architectures (OOP, OOAD, Data, Middleware, Scalability, Resiliency) - Demonstrated experience in software and systems implementation & design and overall distributed systems architecture.
Cloud platforms (one or more of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud) - Minimum 5 years designing, migrating and operating production workloads.
Container orchestration & IaC (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Terraform, Ansible) - Hands-on implementation and architecture.
Cloud-native application design, micro-services &-driven architectures - Proven delivery in cloud environments.
Secure Development Lifecycle (SCA, SAST, DAST, CSPM) - Experience embedding security tools in CI/CD pipelines.
Cloud Design Patterns & reference architectures - Ability to document and reuse patterns across projects.
Governance & compliance (e.g. GDPR) - Demonstrated application in previous roles.
Strong communication & stakeholder management - Written & verbal fluency for both technical teams and senior management.
Good Level of English.
Nice-to-Have Technical Skills:
Knowledge of IBM Cloud services (IBM Cloud Pak, Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud)
Relevant certifications (AWS Solution Architect-Professional, Azure Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF, etc.) or demonstration of equivalent experience.
Knowledge on OpenStack cloud operating system
Exposure to the financial services industry (banking, payments, fintech, capital markets)
