NoOffer Description Call for Expressions of Interest for Guest Researcher AnnouncementReference: BIIC-EC-CBMA/******* – RIVER2OCEAN 2.0Interest grant for guest researchers University of Minho| School of Sciences Centre of Molecular and Environmental BiologyThe Centre of Molecular and Environmental Biology of the School of Sciences of the University of Minho hereby announces that expressions of interest are open for the creation of a pool of interested candidates for the hiring of one (1) Guest Researcher, in the scientific area of Biological Sciences, with a view to developing scientific activities within the scope of the project "RIVER2OCEAN 2.0 - New Socioecological and Biotechnological Solutions for the Promotion of the Aquatic Natural Capital of Northern of Portugal", reference River2Ocean 2.0, with support of the Northern Regional Programme ********* [NORTE****], for a period of 22 months.The Pool of Interested Candidates is established under the terms of the Circular VRT-ECF-******* of September 15, regarding the hiring of Guest Researchers under private law, as per the Regulation of the Career, Recruitment, Hiring and Performance Evaluation of Research Staff under Private Law of the University of Minho (RPI-UM), amended and republished by Order No. **********, published in the Official Gazette, 2nd series, No. 163, of 24 August.
The Circular ECUM-PRES-******* also applies subsidiary, setting out the procedures for hiring guest researchers under private law, as provided in article 6 of the aforementioned regulation, within R&D projects/units of ECUM.As the Guest Researcher is recruited by invitation, in accordance with the Statute of the Scientific Research Career (ECIC), in its current wording, applicable via article 15 of the RPI-UM, and given that guest researchers under private law perform functions corresponding to categories existing in the ECIC research career, early-career PhD researchers are not covered.According to article 36 of the ECIC, the hiring of Guest Researchers is conducted by invitation, with equivalence to one of the categories in the ECIC research career (Assistant Researcher, Principal Researcher, or Coordinating Researcher), to be determined by the Scientific Council of ECUM, upon proposal from the Project's Principal Investigator, following the procedures set out in Circular ECUMPRES- *******.This announcement does not constitute a public call for applications, and therefore no right to hiring arises from the relative assessment of the submitted curricula.Employment Regime The pool of interested candidates is open to researchers who are eligible to work under an exclusivity.Remuneration Remuneration is set according to Annex I of the Regulation of the Career, Recruitment, Hiring and Performance Evaluation of Research Staff under Private Law of the University of Minho (RPI-UM), in accordance with the category equivalent under the ECIC, and within the project's budgetary limits.Application requirementsAcademic training (PhD) in Biology, Molecular Genetics, Applied Biochemistry or related areas;
Relevant scientific and/or professional experience in the field of biotechnology, preferably with previous experience in microbiology, molecular biology, and computational biology, applied to the exploration of aquatic organisms with a view to the production and characterization of value-added biomolecules;
Relevant curriculum vitae in the scientific area(s) indicated;
Certificate of academic qualifications, preferably doctorates with more than two years of postdoctoral training;
