Claire Joster is recruiting an In-House Lawyer - IT, Compliance & GDPR (M/F) for an IT company located in Lisbon.
What we do?
Our client is an IT hub of an international group and the first of its kind outside Germany. The aim is to establish a long-term Business & IT company, supporting all European markets in the implementation and maintenance of contract management systems, as well as overseeing IT projects in other key areas. The scope of activity includes core systems, satellite systems (such as document management and collection systems), as well as integrations, data-related initiatives and large-scale project organisations. To support this growth, our client is looking for a hands-on Corporate Lawyer.
Objectives
The Lawyer will report to the Legal and Compliance Manager of our client. The main objective of the role is to ensure the quality and robustness of contracts with IT Service Providers, assess legal and regulatory risks and identify appropriate mitigation measures. The role will also involve providing legal support on a broader range of matters within the company, beyond the scope described above.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Supporting our client (Lisbon and Porto) on legal, compliance and regulatory matters;
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with IT Service Providers and end customers of our client;
* Negotiating contracts required for the day-to-day operations of our client;
* Identifying and assessing legal and regulatory risks and proposing mitigation measures;
* Establishing and managing processes and workflows between our client in Porto, Service Providers and Headquarters;
* Developing and supporting GDPR requirements for our client.
We believe the right profile for this role should have:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law;
* Minimum of five years' experience as a lawyer in an IT company or in a law firm with a department dedicated to IT matters;
* At least five years' experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating IT contracts;
* Experience in legal matters such as licensing, liability (including limitation of liability), intellectual property rights, export control, data protection and IT security;
* Experience with regulatory requirements applicable to banks (outsourcing, IT security, business continuity management);
* Experience in compliance matters;
* Advanced level of English, both written and spoken;
* Availability to travel to Porto.

The Lawyer will join our client's Legal and Compliance Department. The role will support our client in Porto, while being based at the offices in Lisbon, where the Legal and Compliance team is located.
