Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Engineer Ílhavo, Portugal (Onsite) €35,000 – €40,000 + benefits Full-time | Permanent About the Role We are partnering with an innovative semiconductor technology company seeking ajunior EDA Engineerto support the development and optimisation of design environments for integrated circuits (IC) and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers (1–2 years' experience) with a strong software or computer engineering background who are interested in working at the intersection of software, hardware, and automation. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintainEDA toolchains(e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor) Supportdesign and verification flowsacross Electronic Integrated Circuits (EIC) and Photonic IC (PIC) environments (approx. 70% EIC focus) Manage and maintainPDKs (Process Design Kits)from foundries Develop and automate workflows using scripting (Python, TCL, Bash, etc.) Set up and optimisesimulation environmentsand tooling Improvecompute resource utilisation(CPU/RAM, licensing efficiency) Maintainproject databases, version control, and backups Providetechnical supportto design teams and contribute to best practices Skills & Experience 1–2 years' experience in EDA, IC design environments, or similar Degree inElectrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science Strong scripting/programming skills ( Python, TCL, Perl, Bash ) Understanding of EDA workflows: RTL simulation Synthesis Static Timing Analysis (STA) Layout, DRC/LVS Familiarity withversion control systems Nice to Have Exposure to digital or analogue design concepts Knowledge ofDFT, Monte Carlo, or PVT simulations Experience working inCadence-based front-end flows Why Apply?
