As a senior IT portfolio manager, you will be responsible for leading the Corporate IT Project Portfolio Management function.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the project portfolio is managed in accordance with established frameworks and governance forums.
* Align project selection and prioritization with corporate strategy and enterprise goals.
* Provide advisory recommendations on project approval, continuation or termination.
Methodology & Standards
* Implement a PPM methodology that aligns with business needs.
* Define and enforce artefact standards.
* Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices.
Portfolio execution
* Ensure timely delivery of strategic projects.
* Manage change requests to control scope, budget and schedule.
Reporting & Analytics
* Develop and publish monthly portfolio progress reports and dashboards.
* Track key performance indicators and produce quarterly strategy-execution reports.
Benefits Management & Financial Control
* Partner with finance to quantify and track project benefits.
* Monitor financial controls and forecast variance.
People Leadership & Community Enablement
* Lead a team of project managers and coordinators.
* Coach and develop a community of practice for distributed project leads.
Tooling & Continuous Improvement
* Evaluate and recommend fit-for-purpose PPM tooling.
* Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Serve as trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders.
* Facilitate steering-committee and executive-level decision making.
Requirements
* 10+ years experience in project, programme and/or portfolio management.
* Demonstrated success managing mixed portfolios.
* Background in e-commerce or high-volume B2C/B2B digital businesses.
* Hands-on experience introducing or maturing PPM methodologies.
* Track record of coaching project managers and influencing senior stakeholders.
* Portfolio credential (PfMP) or Agile/SAFe certification.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
* PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
* Fluency in English.
* Advanced knowledge of portfolio & project management best practice.
* Strong leadership and engagement skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
