Application Engineer for Water Treatment Systems Maintenance
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled professional to maintain and optimize water treatment systems. As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of these systems.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of system design and operation, as well as excellent problem-solving skills. You will work closely with customers to identify their needs and develop customized solutions to meet those needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
• A bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, or industrial) or chemistry
• Technical sales or field sales support experience in water treatment or chemical industry
• Fluency in English and native level of Portuguese
• Possess a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
• Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems

Responsibilities
As an Application Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting district sales personnel in handling program service calls on existing products and services
2. Participating in design reviews, new application start-ups, and evaluations
3. Assisting in critiquing products for serviceability, performance, and reliability
4. Assessing on-site field problems and operating required testing equipment to return systems to customer conformance
5. Coordinating and managing replacement parts programs with manufacturing plants to ensure availability of components as needed
6. Preparing reports detailing technical problems and solutions to initiate corrective product modifications and recommended process changes
7. Documenting value provided to customers whenever possible
8. Developing troubleshooting service guides and bulletins on existing products
9. Maintaining troubleshooting guides/bulletins and distributing them to departments as required
10. Qualifying, coordinating, and monitoring outside subcontractor networks to ensure repair timelines are maintained and customer satisfaction is met
11. Working with other district personnel towards continuous improvement of policies and procedures resulting in increased customer satisfaction
12. Providing installation resource services on a project request basis necessary to satisfy customer needs
13. Staying up-to-date with the latest industry advances through continuous education
14. Ensuring all aspects of safety on the job, including operation and maintenance of assigned company vehicles
15. Complying with Nalco policies on Safety, HAZMAT, Product Stewardship, and shipping of analytical samples
