Middle Data Engineer-Big Data & Distributed SystemsRequirements:- 3–5 years of experience building and operating distributed big data systems, with senior candidates also considered; - Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark, including tuning, debugging, and orchestration; - Professional experience with distributed data platforms and Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN); - Strong programming fundamentals with Java (Scala or Python is a plus); - Experience operating Linux-based systems in cloud environments; - Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data workflows; - Familiarity with JupyterHub/JupyterLabs environments and data science workflows; - Knowledge of cloud-native and microservices-based architectures; - Experience with monitoring, observability, continuous delivery, and DevOps practices; - Comfortable working in mission-critical environments with high availability and 24/7 operational requirements; - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously on complex technical challenges; - Strong communication skills in English (minimum B2).Nice to have:- Experience running Spark workloads on EMR or Kubernetes; - Experience with Kubernetes, AWS S3, AWS Glue, Kafka, Iceberg, Trino, Nessie, or Airflow; - Experience building automation and data pipelines for data-intensive workflows; - Knowledge of distributed systems performance optimization and scalability; - Experience contributing to Open Source projects, especially within the Big Data ecosystem; - Interest in platform engineering, developer experience, and cloud-native technologies.What do we offer?- Permanent contract - Health insurance - Career development - Access to TrainingIf you're living in Portugal and are looking for the right opportunity, don't waste your time.
