In the USA through its brands EPOCH for student accommodation and Vineyard for senior living, and through its LIV Student and LIV CoLife brands in Europe, in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and in the Nordics.
Valeo Groupe Europe Ltd. and Valeo Groupe Services Ltd. are affiliates of Valeo Groupe and were founded in 2015 by Valeo Partners together with several high-net-worth individuals to invest in Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) in Europe and manage such investments respectively.
Valeo Management Spain, fully subsidiary of Valeo Groupe Services Ltd. was incorporated in 2018, and already developed a portfolio in Spain and Portugal of 7 properties and circa 3,000 beds including student accommodation and a coliving property, mainly through a regulated investment fund where Valeo Groupe Europe co-invests.
The position is aimed for LIV Student Porto, based in such city. The employee will be hired by the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) subsidiary entity of the Iberian Fund that owns the asset of Porto and for which Valeo Management Spain (local branch of VMEL) delivers the property, development and operational management services.
Role and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Student Host will be as follows:
* Actively promote the leasing process of Residence units to university students staying in Porto, under the indications of the Residence Manager and in coordination with the rest of the Student Hosts.
* Follow-up the commercial relation with leads until closing of the booking, and signature of contractual documents.
* Support as requested with graduate educational centres in Porto to reach agreements that could benefit the Residence.
* Contact, follow-up the commercial activity with the most relevant under-graduate centres in cities near Porto so they can present our Residence to their students.
* Contact and follow-up with foreign universities that send students to Porto, so they can offer our Residence to their students.
* Launch webinar presentations for potential leads not being able to visit the marketing suite or residence once open.
* Present the marketing suite and Residence once open, room typologies and the benefits of our Residence to potential interested students and their families.
* Propose social media content together with the Residence Leasing & Experience Manager and under the approval of Valeo Management Leasing & Marketing Service Office.
* Propose and implement sales and marketing activities, events and actions in accordance with the commercial plan.
* Support the leads in the booking process, presential, offline and online channels, managing the online booking platform. Archive of documents related to bookings.
* Check-in/out activities. Desktop, reception and hosting activities.
* Building community spirit and relationships with students, parents and guarantors. Creating a unique residence experience for the residents.
* Propose and support or execute group activities and events for residents.
* Monitor payments, bad debt, and other contractual obligations of residents. Enforcing rules in line with the residence regulations as well as compliance with the signed lease agreements, including identifying any residents falling behind with their obligations.
* Ensuring health and safety, security, functioning and appearance comply with the relevant company standards. Following safety protocols in case is needed. Reporting to the Residence Management or relevant departments in charge as soon as any need is detected in these areas.
* Supporting to achieve the best facility entertainment. Informing the Facility Management team when any specialized repair is needed. Supporting in inspections when needed, resolving maintenance / cleaning issues or liaising with maintenance contractors, if appropriate.
* Keep good order in the residence, and manage conflicts if they appear, following instructions of the Residence Manager or available protocols.
* Other operational work in relation to the needs of the Residence.
* Support whenever necessary other areas of the operational activity.
* Stepping up to any other challenges required, commensurate with the role.

Essential to maintain good contact and commercial attitude with universities and students. Punctual travel might be required for some commercial visits, training or team building activities, where overnight stays could be needed.
Experience and Competencies
· At least 3 years of experience in the student accommodation sector, the hotel industry (MICE department) or travel and tourism.
· Have excellent sales and communication skills (listening, presenting and relationship building), ideally in the student accommodation sector.
· Be able to work well in a dynamic, sales-focused team within a hospitality environment.
· Be organised, hardworking, honest and enthusiastic.
· Be positive and have an empathetic attitude / sociable and fun personality with strong commercial acumen.
· Be reliable, flexible, collaborative and trustworthy with great people skills.
· Be able to demonstrate an awareness of the commercial aspects of running a student residence.
· Be organised and keen to provide an excellent student experience that will become the talk of the town.
· Be able to demonstrate high standards when working to targets / KPI's / customer expectations.
· Be computer literate (European Computer Driving Licence / Microsoft user level).
· Have a smart, professional appearance and manner.
Languages
· Portuguese (English and Spanish mainly and other European languages would also be beneficial).
