Job Description
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in enabling innovation by strengthening transparency, performance, and financial excellence in our R&D environment.
As a Business Development Manager, you will act at the intersection of technology, finance, and strategy, working closely with cross-functional and international teams to ensure sustainable business success.
Responsibilities:
* Driving Conceptual Development & Performance Management
* Coordinating PDPI (Product Delivery Performance Indicator) controlling within a cross-functional network
* Developing and optimizing controlling concepts in your area of responsibility, with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement
* Enhancing project steering dashboards and data quality, working closely with the Project Management Office(PMO) and Business Units and leveraging existing systems and processes
* Strategic Business Partnering & Challenging Insights
* Acting as a trusted Business Partner for central R&D functions, serving as the main contact for all commercial and controlling-related topics
* Challenging project assumptions and calculations, particularly regarding profitability, efficiency, and strategic alignment
* Defining, tracking, and analyzing commercial OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), enabling data-driven decisions and continuous performance improvements
* Governance & Standards
* Acting as the governor of the R&D project calculation template, ensuring alignment with central guidelines, standards, and best practices
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* A University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on Controlling or Finance
* Several years of relevant professional experience in Controlling, Finance, or Business Partnering, ideally within an R&D or innovation-driven environment
* Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, with the ability to turn complex data into clear insights
* Confident handling of SAP
* Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and project-based financial steering is a plus
