Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fundraising Expert to join our team and drive the development of our fundraising strategy, financial planning, and overall growth. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, contributing to the creation of effective fundraising strategies, and supporting the end-to-end process of applying for venture capital investments and grant funding. Key Responsibilities:
Capital Raising & Investment Rounds:
Lead and manage fundraising activities, including VC rounds and equity financing. Collaborate with the CEO to define investment needs and prepare investor materials. Coordinate due diligence and support the structuring of investment agreements. Grants & Non-Dilutive Funding:
Identify and apply for relevant grants and public funding programs. Oversee the grant application process and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Investor Relations & Networking:
Build and maintain relationships with investors, VCs, angel networks, and strategic partners. Represent the company at pitch events and industry forums. Funding Strategy & Research:
Continuously research new funding opportunities aligned with company goals. Maintain a database of potential funding sources and contribute to long-term financial planning. Required Qualifications:
Fundraising Experience:
Proven track record in a fundraising role, ideally within a startup, scale-up, or high-growth environment. Experience managing investment rounds, capital raising, and investor engagement. Institutional Knowledge:
Previous experience working with or within VC firms (e.G., Portugal Ventures) or public innovation bodies (e.G., Startup Portugal, IAPMEI) is highly valued. Startup & Investor Relations Expertise:
Demonstrated success in securing funding from venture capital, angel investors, and other private sources. Familiarity with the end-to-end fundraising lifecycle and stakeholder management. Government & Non-Dilutive Funding:
Strong understanding of public funding mechanisms, including grants, subsidies, and innovation support programs at the national or EU level. Financial Acumen:
Expertise in financial planning, capital structuring, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management to support sustainable growth. Educational Background:
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline. Certifications (Preferred):
Professional financial certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent are considered a strong advantage.
