FINANCIAL RETURNS
Works with superior in the management of areas of responsibility.
Assists in monitoring and controlling departmental costs on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget.
Assists all departments in purchasing for the entire hotel as well as any requisitions and transfers made between departments.
Assists in receiving all goods being delivered, according to delivery dates previously defined by the property.
Assists with employee's cash floats, to guarantee good functioning of departments that deal with cash.
Audits individual employees' floats at least monthly.
On a regular basis finds alternatives to current suppliers, to guarantee the best purchase price.
Elaborates food cost reports for Executive Chef and ExCom team analysis.
Posts invoices in the system.
PEOPLE
Cooperates, coordinates, and communicates with other departments in matters concerning accounting related matters and internal control.
Works with Superior on manpower planning and management needs.
Interacts, as required, with individuals outside the hotel including the hotel's bank, tax auditors and other hotels and IHG corporate offices.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
Builds and maintains positive relationships with all internal customers and guests to exceed their needs.
Take action to address these needs to exceed their expectations.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Demonstrates awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensures all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines.
Is aware of duty of care and adheres to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
Is familiar with property safety, first aid, and fire and emergency procedures and operates equipment safely and sensibly.
Initiates action to correct a hazardous situation and notifies supervisors of potential dangers.
Logs security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Ensures compliance to the IHG policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures to improve workflows in the accounts department.
Reviews and corrects daily purchases.
Is responsible for month-end general cashier.
Is responsible for month-end inventory.
Maintains and ensures proper update of daily transaction entries, including food and beverage transfers.
Prepares and inputs journal entries for month-end closing.
Analyzes monthly financial accounts and provides financial information to management.
Controls all balance-sheet accounts by preparing monthly account reconciliations and taking appropriate action.
Prepares monthly inventory reconciliations.
Specially reviews the accounts-payable balance to ensure accuracy, proposes action, and follows up to maintain a clear balance with limited over ******-day amounts.
Reviews accounts-payable purchase journal and accounts-payable/inventory interface.
Reviews travel agency commission payments.
Maintains and ensures proper update of contracts, licenses, CAPEX, fixed-asset disposal forms, and car park facilities in a timely and accurate manner.
Leads liaison with internal and external auditors.
Assists in monthly forecasting and yearly budget input.
Coordinates and administers CSA.
Reports directly to and communicates with the Manager of Finance & Business Support on all matters pertaining to accounting and financial controls.
Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 Years of related work experience.
Able to communicate with and lead colleagues.
