About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Software Category Manager to lead our software procurement efforts across various departments. This strategic role requires expertise in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and category management.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee software procurement bidding processes, ensuring effective vendor selection and contract negotiation strategies.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding procurement and purchasing activities, fostering strong relationships with key vendors.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cooperative negotiation with suppliers, promoting open communication and best practices sharing.
* Evaluate and recommend vendor selection based on competitive bidding of products and services through formal RFX processes or leveraged negotiations.
* Negotiate contracts and prices to secure business competitiveness, focusing on cost savings and risk mitigation.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Procurement function within a large, complex organization.
* Strong background in strategic sourcing and category management, particularly in Software (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, licensing models) and related support and maintenance services.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills, with ability to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical tools like PowerBI or Qlik.
