Lead Structural Analysis and Design Expert
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced structural analysis and design expert to lead our team in delivering technically sound and cost-effective structural solutions for our offshore support structures.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading structural analysis and design activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. They will develop detailed engineering designs and calculations for structural components, considering factors such as loading conditions, material properties, and fabrication constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead structural analysis and design activities for offshore support structures
* Develop detailed engineering designs and calculations for structural components
* Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other advanced analytical studies to assess structural performance and identify areas for optimization
* Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate structural components into overall systems
* Review and evaluate engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
* Interface with clients and regulatory agencies as needed to address technical inquiries and resolve engineering issues
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
* 5-8 years of progressive experience in structural analysis and design, with a focus on offshore or marine structures
* Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), structural modeling, and dynamic loading analysis
* Desirable experience working on wind energy projects, preferably involving the design of support structures for offshore wind turbines
* Proficiency in structural engineering software tools, such as STAAD Pro, SACS, or ANSYS
* Good technical knowledge of analysis software and office applications
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and MATLAB
* Multidisciplinary skills and good knowledge of cross-functional disciplines
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex engineering data and make sound technical decisions
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of €2,800 - €4,290 gross per month, 14 salaries per year, food allowance, private health insurance, significant tax reduction benefits, company-provided laptop and mobile phone, and stock option bonus eligibility.
This is a full-time position with a minimum 3 days per week in the office, ideally 4-5 days, based in Viana do Castelo office, Portugal. The contract is permanent with an initial trial period, and the work week is 40 hours with 22 days of vacation annually.
