Engineering Manager Iberia
Role Summary
Americold is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Engineering Manager Iberia to support and complement the current regional engineering leadership. This role will be responsible for supporting, contributing, promoting and implementing the Americold strategy and initiatives. The Engineering Manager will oversee maintenance operations, contractor coordination, compliance, and continuous improvement across multiple cold storage facilities. Reporting to the Regional Manager for Europe the role requires concise and clear communication methods.
Key Responsibilities
Operational backup & continuity
Ensure seamless execution of maintenance and engineering activities across all sites.
Maintenance & Facility oversight and point of contact for commercial and technical queries
Manage daily maintenance operations including refrigeration, material handling equipment, and utilities.
Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely corrective actions.
Contractor & vendor management
Coordinate external contractors for specialized repairs, installations, and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Budgeting & Planning
Support the development of annual maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans.
Monitor expenditures and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
Technical Leadership
Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
Support and manage engineering projects including automation, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
Ensure the compliance of the facility for external and internal audits
Reporting and management of KPI's ensuring action plans are in place to rectify deviations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred).
5+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering management, ideally in cold storage or logistics.
Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, warehouse automation, and contractor management.
Fluent in English and Spanish;
Portuguese is a plus.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Willingness to travel across Iberia as needed.
