We are seeking an experienced
Hotel HR Manager
to join a well-established hospitality operation in
Albufeira, Portugal
. The ideal candidate must be
currently based in Portugal
and come
strictly from a hotel/hospitality background
. This role will oversee all human resources functions and support hotel leadership in driving a strong people culture and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end HR operations for the hotel, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention
* Partner with hotel management to support workforce planning and staffing requirements
* Ensure full compliance with
Portuguese labour laws
and hospitality regulations
* Oversee employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary procedures
* Manage payroll coordination, contracts, benefits, and HR documentation
* Lead training and development initiatives aligned with hotel service standards
* Support pre-opening or seasonal workforce ramp-up if required
* Foster a positive workplace culture and high employee engagement
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as an
HR Manager within a hotel or hospitality environment
(mandatory)
* Currently based in Portugal
(mandatory)
* Strong knowledge of
Portuguese employment law
* Experience working with seasonal staffing models is an advantage
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Fluent in
Portuguese and English
(additional languages are a plus)
* Strong organisational and people-management skills
