A Snapshot of Your Day
You will work on customer sites and have a good understanding of power plant activities. You will have an understanding of mechanical and electrical activities to assist you in your day-to-day duties and be able to demonstrate these across different technologies. Undertaking a range of maintenance activities across various customer sites globally in large and small field specialist teams while showing motivated, self-conscious, and respectful manners. You will be safety conscious with a Right First-Time attitude.
How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
* Act as an Electrical Fitter (Winder) for Field Service work undertaken at nominated customer sites.
* Maintain a good understanding of Generator Mechanical / Electrical works and able to demonstrate this across different technologies.
* To apply all the trade-specific skills for Electrical Fitter and any of the basic and general skills required in order to optimally undertake duties in a safe and proficient manner.
* Follow high level instruction from the Supervisor and Site Manager.
* Take ownership for your own work, within the set guidelines. Encouraged to highlight issues, defects to the appropriate level.
* Assists in the execution of the day-to-day work.
* Review, advise and resolve all potential and actual site issues related to the scope of work.
* Complete inspection record sheets, as requested by your supervisor, and to sign as complete and accurate.
* Able to work within safety guidelines and familiar with risk assessments, method statements and safe working practices.
* Exhibit motivation and commitment to site programmes.
* To be generally aware of site processes and procedures.
* To undergo training, if required, in any of those basic, general and trade specific skills areas where development is identified.
* To support the training of employees in lower grades when required and where necessary to undergo training for such duties.
* Exceptional attendance record with flexible working attitude and time management.
What You Bring (requirements)
* Previous experience as an electrical/mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent.
* Electrical fitting (Winding) experience preferably on Power Stations and Site Works Communication skills essential.
* High attention to detail and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
* Preferably good knowledge and proven experience with the carrying out of repairs on air cooled, hydrogen cooled and water-cooled generator stators and rotors.
* Experience with mechanical strip and rebuild during minor, medium and major overhauls of both air and hydrogen cooled generators.
* Ability to work collaboratively (internally and with external partners) and individually to achieve results.
* Flexible to meet the changing needs of site work.
* Basic communication (both written and oral) skills in English.
* Good organizational and time management skills.
* Good digital literacy skills is an advantage.
