Program Engineering Manager
This role oversees programs of mixed-signal IP projects, ensuring delivery according to roadmaps and maintaining overview of program performance on key milestones and KPIs.
As a Program Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to oversee groups of individual projects linked together through shared organizational goals or common areas of impact. You will assure customer commitments are met within compromised time, cost, and performance.
The programmatic grouping of multiple projects provides synergy, consistent management, and greater visibility to stakeholders than individually managed projects, enabling common decision processes and enhanced risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management of the entire program engineering lifecycle including initiation, definition, planning, and steering.
* Monitoring and managing program budgets, scope, risks, issues, and schedules.
* Assisting in the implementation of program and project management standards and tools.
* Identifying needs, managing expectations, and building relationships with stakeholders.
* Leading regular status meetings with program teams, project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
* Providing coaching and assistance to other Project Engineering Managers.
* Ensuring coordination across different programs.
* Providing internal and external reporting to senior leadership and external entities for strategic performance.
* Coordinating cross-project activities within the SerDes project management department.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Applied Science (or equivalent).
* Requires 5+ years of experience in a project/program management role.
* Thorough understanding of program/project management techniques and methods.
* Moderation experience and skills.
* Experience working in matrix organizations demonstrating strong influencing and collaborative skills across multiple teams.
* Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and discuss complex matters clearly with both technical and non-technical people.
* Solid organizational skills.
* Excellent problem-solving ability.
* Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
Valued Requirements:
* Demonstrable experience in Formal Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, etc.).
* Understanding of technical aspects of IP and SoC development.
* Familiarity with the development process for ASIC designs.
* Familiarity with UNIX operating systems, MS Project, and MS Excel.
* Experience in Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
* Formal soft-skill training – Communication, Negotiation, Moderation, Leadership.
