Barsan Global Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Customs Broker Assistant to support customs clearance operations and ensure smooth coordination of import and export processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with customs regulations while providing excellent service to customers and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing and processing import and export customs documentation
* Support customs clearance procedures in compliance with Portuguese customs regulations and international trade requirements
* Communicate with customers, customs authorities, and internal departments regarding shipment status and documentation
* Monitor and track customs declarations to ensure timely clearance of shipments
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed correctly
* Coordinate with transport, warehouse, and operations teams to support smooth logistics processes
* Assist in resolving customs-related issues and delays efficiently
* Stay updated on customs procedures, tariff classifications, and regulatory changes
* Provide administrative and operational support to the customs brokerage team
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience in customs brokerage
* Knowledge of UK customs procedures and import/export documentation is an advantage
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics software systems
* Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred
