Senior Database Engineer, Database Engineering Team at FanDuelThe Database Engineering Team at FanDuel is responsible for the performance, reliability, and installation of all NoSQL and traditional SQL databases.
The team is globally located with members in New York, Great Britain, and Atlanta.
We are currently seeking to add a Senior Database Engineer with expertise in Elasticsearch to contribute to the design, optimization, and scaling of our infrastructure.
What You'll Be DoingDesign and implement scalable Elasticsearch clusters to support high-traffic, data-intensive applications.
Develop and maintain indexing strategies, mappings, and search schemas that optimize performance.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune Elasticsearch performance, including query optimization, shard management, and cluster scaling.
Automate deployments and management (e.G., Terraform, Ansible).
Ensure data security and compliance by managing access control, encryption, and data retention policies.
Collaborate with Application, DevOps, and Networking teams.
Evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices to enhance data reliability and scalability.
Knowledge share with other team members and contribute to overall data platform architecture strategy.
We Hope You HaveExperience with Elasticsearch 7.17.X and 8.14.X.
Background in AWS technologies: EC2 instance types, Storage Options, aws-cli, Route 53.
Knowledge of AWS Outposts is desirable.
Detailed knowledge of Linux OS;
tuning of databases as affected by storage, memory, and network configuration.
Desirable to have proficiency in at least one other datastore: Cassandra, MySQL, Postgres.
Ability to define and implement replication and redundancy policies.
Scripting and automation skills: Python, Bash.
