Grid Connection Manager Job Description
This is a challenging role for someone who wants to make a difference in the renewable energy sector. As a Grid Connection Manager, you will oversee the grid connection process and ensure that it runs smoothly from start to finish.
Your main responsibilities will include managing communication and coordination with Distribution and Transmission System Operators (TSOs/DNOs), providing technical input during negotiations at connection nodes, and preparing and managing connection schedules in collaboration with the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) team.
You will also be responsible for assessing the impact of planning or execution delays, proposing mitigation strategies, and monitoring risks along the project's critical path. Additionally, you will assist the Project Manager with administrative processes related to evacuation infrastructure and support the Procurement team in estimating and validating costs related to evacuation infrastructure.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Manage communication and coordination with TSOs/DNOs.
* Provide technical input during negotiations at connection nodes.
* Prepare and manage connection schedules in collaboration with the EPC team.
* Assess the impact of planning or execution delays.
* Propose mitigation strategies.
* Monitor risks along the project's critical path.
* Assist the Project Manager with administrative processes.
* Support the Procurement team in estimating and validating costs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Energy, or a related field.
* You have at least 3 years of experience in managing grid connection processes and working with TSOs/DNOs, preferably within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
* You possess strong technical expertise in grid-sharing agreements, evacuation infrastructure, and risk assessment.
* You are highly detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and mitigating project risks.
* You have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
