Engineering Manager - Robert Walters Lisbon

Our client is a multinational company operating in the premium consumer goods sector, with a strong presence across Southern Europe. Known for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence, the company is expanding its leadership team in Portugal to further accelerate growth and market impact.


Position Overview

We are recruiting a Commercial Director to lead the commercial strategy and execution in Portugal. This senior leadership role will oversee both On-Trade and Off-Trade channels, manage strategic customer relationships, and lead the Customer Marketing function. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the commercial vision and driving sustainable growth.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a comprehensive channel strategy to enhance market share, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
* Lead the creation of short- and long-term commercial plans, integrating consumer and shopper insights.
* Build and manage a high-performing sales organization focused on execution and results.
* Foster strategic partnerships and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements across the value chain.
* Optimize customer segmentation and investment strategies to maximize performance.
* Define and execute an effective Route to Consumer (RTC) strategy.
* Oversee trade terms, pricing, and promotional effectiveness to ensure sustainable outcomes.
* Lead the Customer Marketing team in delivering impactful brand and category plans.
* Collaborate with internal teams to grow the premium portfolio and identify innovation opportunities.
* Work closely with corporate affairs to support reputation and social responsibility initiatives.
* Forecast and allocate resources effectively, particularly during seasonal demand peaks.
* Contribute to the regional leadership team and promote a positive, inclusive culture.


Candidate Profile

* Proven experience in commercial leadership roles within FMCG or retail sectors.
* Strong people leadership skills with a track record of coaching, development, and performance management.
* Excellent commercial acumen and customer management capabilities.
* Agile decision-maker with a collaborative and externally curious mindset.
* Fluent in Portuguese and English.
