Project Manager for Mechanical Operations
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of mechanical operations across the project.
Detailed Responsibilities
* Ensure delivery of mechanical operations in line with project specifications, schedule, and budget.
* Analyse, track, and manage critical milestone activities to prevent delays.
* Review construction proposals to ensure alignment with project objectives.
* Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers, package managers, supervisors, and foremen.
* Engage with project stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
* Liaise with design teams and subcontractors to ensure project delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.
* Drive productivity and performance through effective work planning.
* Coordinate day-to-day site operations with package managers.
* Oversee and manage subcontractor performance, tracking progress against schedule and manpower requirements.
* Coordinate activities with other subcontractors operating in shared work areas.
* Prepare comprehensive weekly project reports.
* Consolidate supervisor updates into weekly progress reports.
* Conduct commercial meetings with the commercial team.
* Promote and manage site safety.
* Develop, implement, and maintain company procedures.
* Manage change management processes.
Requirements
* Minimum 10 years' experience managing large-scale mechanical projects.
* Prior experience on data centre projects is highly desirable.
* Trade or engineering qualification preferred.
* Proven track record in mechanical project management.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage large-scale installation projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical design and build systems.
* In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and associated services.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
