About the Role We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Digital Designer and Developer to join our growing team in Portugal. This role sits at the intersection of design and development, ideal for someone who enjoys bringing ideas to life through clean, scalable, and user-focused digital experiences. You will work across a variety of projects, from websites to fully functional web applications, collaborating closely with internal teams and clients in a fast-paced startup environment. Key Responsibilities Design & Development - Design and develop high-quality, responsive websites and web applications. - Translate design concepts into clean, maintainable, and efficient code. - Work across multiple platforms including React, WordPress, Framer, and Shopify. - Build and customise WordPress themes and plugins. - Develop and maintain Shopify storefronts, including theme customisation and integrations. - Create and manage Framer websites, ensuring strong visual execution and performance. - Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to deliver intuitive and engaging user experiences. - Ensure all projects are optimised for performance, scalability, and SEO best practices. - Maintain consistency in design systems, UI components, and brand guidelines. Collaboration & Delivery - Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and leadership. - Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. - Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on project progress. - Participate in project planning, scoping, and technical discussions. - Provide input on design and technical feasibility during early project stages. Optimisation & Maintenance - Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical challenges. - Continuously improve existing websites and applications based on feedback and analytics. - Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends. - Implement best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment. Qualifications & Skills - 3–5 years' experience in a similar developer/designer or front-end role. - Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript frameworks. - Solid experience working with WordPress (theme development and customisation). - Experience building and customising Shopify websites. - Familiarity with Framer for rapid website design and development. - Good understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design. - Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end tooling. - Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git). - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
