About the role
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key role in strengthening Host Wise's internal accounting structure, bringing greater accuracy, control and consistency to our financial operations .
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset, and who is motivated by building structure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What you'll be doing
* Leading the company's day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and reliability across financial records;
* Preparing monthly closings and supporting the delivery of timely and consistent financial information;
* Ensuring compliance with tax and accounting obligations under the Portuguese framework (IVA, retenções, etc.);
* Managing reconciliations, supporting current account control, and maintaining strong documentation standards;
* Supporting the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting in close collaboration with the CFO;
* Improving accounting processes, controls and workflows to support scale and operational efficiency;
* Providing structure and review support across the finance team, helping raise the quality and consistency of execution.
Skills for the Role
* Degree in Accounting, Management or similar;
* 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with exposure to ERPs and invoicing systems;
* Certified Chartered Accountan t (Portuguese TOC / OCC certification);
* Strong knowledge of Portuguese tax and accounting framework;
* Autonomous profile with strong ownership mindset.
