This role is based in Portugal.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and maintain web solutions from inception to deployment.
* Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, shopfloor consultants, data scientists, and frontend engineers to develop user-centric features.
* Utilize your expertise, knowledge, and skills to design, implement, test, deploy, and operate microservices and data pipelines of our applications.
* Occasionally, apply problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve faulty applications.
* Bring curiosity and exploration to discover new technologies and methods, identifying opportunities to enhance our solutions.
* Monitor tech debt and focus on reducing it.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
* Experience in writing maintainable and well-tested code.
* Good knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms.
* Experience with modern CI/CD practices.
* Strong knowledge of object-oriented codebases using Java or Kotlin, with an openness to learning new languages.
* Experience with infra-as-code tools such as Terraform or similar.
* Experience using Git.
* Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis, Mongo).
* Experience deploying applications using Docker or Kubernetes.
* Experience with message services (SQS, Kafka).
* Fluency in English.
Bonus Requirements:
* Experience in IIoT and the manufacturing industry.
* Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban methodologies.
* Experience with end-to-end testing.
* Experience in automated testing.
* Knowledge of security topics related to web applications.
* Knowledge in building robust systems.
