We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, and other interventional procedures.
* Assist cardiologists and the clinical team during invasive cardiac procedures.
* Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and manage emergencies effectively.
* Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
* Operate and monitor relevant equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems.
* Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
* Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and lifestyle adjustments.
* Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and ensure adherence to hospital policies and best practices.
* Participate in continuous professional development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements:
* Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
* Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a Cath Lab environment.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
* Proven knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and interventional procedures.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Flexibility to work shifts, standby, and overtime when required
